Marketa Motton

Marketa R. Motton is a native of Greenville, MS, currently residing in Jackson, MS. She is a proud graduate of the class of 1995 from T.L. Weston High. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Counseling Education with an emphasis in Mental Health from Alcorn  State University.  She received her Education Specialist Degree in Counseling from Mississippi College.  Ms. Motton is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S). She is also a Board Certified Telemental Therapist (BC-TMH). 

Ms. Motton is employed with the Mississippi Department of Human Services, Division of Youth Services. She has been with this agency for a little over 20 years. She has worked as a Youth Services Counselor both in the institution, Oakley Youth Development Center, and in the community.  Currently, she is a social services supervisor, providing supervision and guidance to social services specialists across 11 counties that serve youths and families involved with the Mississippi Youth Court.  Ms. Motton has demonstrated a passion for the work that she continues to do, working with her staff to ensure that the needs of juvenile delinquents are met effectively and efficiently.

Ms. Motton started her involvement with the Mississippi State Advisory Group as a stakeholder in 2017 and became a member in July 2022.
