Toni Kersh

Toni Kersh is currently employed by the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) as the Director of Youth Services. She has been with the agency since June 2020. Prior to accepting a position with MDHS, Mrs. Kersh was employed by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) for over 22 years in various positions. While at MDE, she worked in the areas of Special Education, Compulsory School Attendance Enforcement, Alternative Education, Counseling, and Dropout Prevention. Mrs. Kersh received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communicative Disorders from Jackson State University in 1988 and a Master of Science Degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Mississippi in 1990.

Toni has been married to George Kersh for 32 years and together they have two adult children, Morris (33) and Kaelin (deceased). She enjoys watching classic movies and sitcoms, interior decorating, and spending time with her two grandsons (Ethan and KaLyn). Toni is a member of the Mississippi Commission on Children’s Justice, Juvenile Justice State Advisory Group, Council of Juvenile Justice Administrators (CJJA), Jackson State University Alumni J-Settes, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
