Ta’Shia Gordon

Ta’Shia Gordon is a Special Assistant Attorney General assigned to the Children’s Division of the Bureau of Victim Assistance. Ta’Shia collaborates with other state agencies and other organizations to work to improve the juvenile justice and child welfare systems to reduce juvenile delinquency, truancy, drop-out rates, cyberbullying, exploitation of children, child abuse, and child neglect through training and technical assistance.  Ta’Shia is tasked with special projects as assigned by the Attorney General, coordinates the Mental Health Task Force meetings and manages the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative grant.

Ta’Shia is a 1999 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Mississippi State University and a 2003 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law. Ta’Shia has dedicated a great deal of her career to improving the lives of children.  Ta’Shia has extensive knowledge and experience in general chancery court practice, family and civil law matters and judicial administration.  Ta’Shia formerly served as Deputy Director of the Administrative Office of Courts at the Mississippi Supreme Court.  Ta’Shia has also been a Staff Attorney and Court Administrator in the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Chancery Court Districts in Mississippi.  Ta’Shia also worked as a Staff Attorney for Family Violence and Victims Services in the Family and Children Division for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.  Ta’Shia was also employed as a Staff Attorney for the Mississippi Department of Human Services Child Support Enforcement Division.

Ta’Shia is a native of Philadelphia, Neshoba County, Mississippi.  She currently resides in Madison County, MS with her husband, Attorney Marvell Gordon and their two children.
